Nussbaum began in 1945 when founder Alden Nussbaum bought a small LTL trucking company based in Fairbury, IL and began providing early AM next day delivery service to its customers. In 1965, the company moved its operations to Normal, IL and added a full truckload division serving five states in the Midwest. A change in retailing and consumer buying habits in the late nineties drove Nussbaum to exit the LTL trucking segment to focus on full and multiple stop truckload and dedicated truckload services.
